Course Description More Details
This induction program is for New Special Education teachers who are teaching special education. This program is designed to support and encourage retention in the field of special education. Teachers will learn a basic understanding of High Leverage Practices (HLPs) and how implementing these practices will enhance student learning. Teachers will have an opportunity to practice their skills using an Avatar Lab.
The Avatar Lab creates a mixed reality simulation (MRS) where teachers can try out new teaching techniques and receive feedback on their lessons. This course will also provide learning activities and resources in Individualized Education Plan development, areas of exceptionalities, eligibility reports, transition planning, developing behavior intervention plans as well as Special Education Law.
